THE CIVIC ASSOCIATION OF HAMMOND LAKE ESTATES MAY, 2003 Newsletter
Road Improvement The repaving of the West Bloomfield streets that are in such dire need is in the "Works". An informational meeting will be held in the near future to explain the schedule and financial details. The worst sections of South Hammond Lake Drive are on the County's over-lay/capping schedule for this summer. Total re-surfacing is on the tentative schedule for the next year. More information is forthcoming and will be presented as soon as it becomes available.
Beach Please note: Your key is your pass to the beach - please have it in your possession when using the facility. When your current year annual dues are paid and you have signed the "Hold Harmless" agreement, you are a member of "The Hammond Lake Civic Association" for the year and entitled to use the Association property and, therefore, have "Lake Access" via these properties. New access gate locks were installed on May 8th. New keys for these locks are available from the Treasurer, Carla Johnson. There is new sand on the beach thanks to a donation from the Beaudet's. The flowers at the entrances and in the planters as well as the labor involved are a contribution to the neighborhood from Susan O'Toole. Please thank them when you see them!
Speed PLEASE DRIVE 25 OR LESS on our streets! Click here to view the story from "Nightline". It is well worth the time it takes to read...
Special Thanks To HLCA members, Mike and Diane Marion and their company "Perennial Smiles" for the great work they are doing on the flower beds that surround our signs. Their services come highly recommended and their company phone number is (248) 755-2511.
2003/2004 Directory It is in the works. If you have any corrections or additions to make please drop the Directory Chairman a line c/o the HCLA P.O. Box. If you have a new neighbor, or for that matter, are a new neighbor, please give Dan Klempner a call at (248) 338-6844 and we'll note the changes.
2003 Annual Meeting Was held May 8th and was well attended. A synopsis of the topics that were dealt with can be viewed under BOD Minutes.
Motorboat Issues Two letters that are representative of the majority of the Hammond Lake Residents feelings on the "Motorboat" issue and the HUG propaganda were attached in the May, 2003 newsletter or you can click here to view them. |
